During Open Museum Day, we had the pleasure of welcoming a special delegation to the Citadel: the lads from RED & GREEN — the Paracommando Motorcycle Friends!
It was a reunion with their 'old' base and a visit to our Pegasus Museum, where a significant part of their own history has found a home.
💶 A cheque for no less than €1,000 from their club funds!
But that wasn't all. The club also announced a fantastic initiative:
🏁
Legacy Run — 5 July
Open motorbike ride for all bikers. Start at the Pegasus Museum on the Citadel. All proceeds go to the museum.
📍 Registration: 10:00 | Briefing & Start: 11:00
💰 €10 solo / €5 duo

The Pegasus Museum is free to visit and runs entirely on volunteers. Thanks to heart-warming donations like this, we can keep our history alive. Especially in these turbulent times, it is essential to continue telling the story of our past for the future.
Thank you, RED & GREEN! 🏍️
On the occasion of the presentation of the checks, followed by a convivial standing lunch at La Chise.
Dear Friends,
With the donation we are officially making today, the board and members of our association wish to express their pride in supporting the two museums that symbolize our Para-Commandos.
To you, the presidents, and to all your volunteer collaborators: for your efforts in preserving our history and heritage, specifically linked to our airborne units, we warmly congratulate and thank you for the realization and maintenance of these two gems. Here, we find a multitude of objects, weapons, and other memorabilia that bear witness to our joy during the success of our missions, as well as our sorrow related to the loss of many comrades.
Following this introduction, it seems essential to read the declaration of the bank donation to the assembly, a document that justifies and motivates our donation. I quote:
*« The AMICALE PARA COMMANDO of WAVRE, founded in 1990, whose current premises are located at 5 Ernest Solvay Avenue, 1300 Wavre, hereby and in application of the decision of its members – who authorize the undersigned members of the committee to certify – declares that it donates today the amount of:
4,000 euros (four thousand euros) to the PEGASUS MUSEUM in Diest
4,000 euros (four thousand euros) to the COMMANDO MUSEUM in Flawinne. »*

King’s Day: correspondence between the Pegasus Museum and the Royal Palace
In keeping with annual tradition, military personnel and patriotic organisations send a letter to the King on King's Day.
The Pegasus Museum also expresses its respect and loyalty to the Monarch and to Belgium.
The Royal Palace has responded via the King's Military Household to say that this gesture is greatly appreciated.
Left you will find the Palace's reply.
